'Gamescom', the world's largest digital game fair, opened its doors in Cologne, Germany. The fair, where giant companies in the field of digital games took place, was attended by important companies and institutions from Turkey under the leadership of YTU Yıldız Technopark.
Organised for 13 years and considered as the world's largest digital game fair in its field, 'Gamescom' opened its doors to game lovers with the participation of many international game companies. One thousand 100 companies from 53 countries participated in the fair where 21 game companies from Turkey also took part. The fair, where the latest developments in the field of games are announced, conferences and events related to the sector are held, draws attention with its dynamic structure. YTU Yıldız Technopark General Manager Orhan Tanışman and Deputy General Manager İsa Turgut İnci attended the fair where representatives of Turkey's leading institutions and companies took their places under the leadership of YTU Yıldız Technopark.
"Turkey is among the countries leading the gaming industry"
Orhan Tanışman, General Manager of YTU Yıldız Technopark, stated that they strengthen cooperation by bringing together national initiatives with international companies in the field of digital games and said: "Turkey is among the countries that grow the gaming industry in the world and lead this industry. Our young people not only use technology, but also produce it and expand this ecosystem. As YTU Yıldız Technopark, we have been the leader among technoparks for 3 years. We are proud to be the first stop that feeds the initiatives that produce high added value and advanced technologies in our country. Since our nature is technology and informatics, we also take care to be the first of all innovations in this axis. For this reason, the digital gaming world is one of the issues we care about. With our GamesUp project, we have launched the largest incubation centre in Istanbul, where we help our entrepreneurs in the field of e-sports and game technologies to achieve growth that can export by providing mentorship. I firmly believe that the products and brands that will emerge with this support will be among the most powerful companies in the world."

Orhan Tanışman emphasised that YTU Yıldız Technopark hosts more than 300 R&D companies, more than 100 incubation companies and more than 8 thousand qualified R&D and software personnel, and said the following about the digital gaming industry: "Especially in recent years, the acceleration of the gaming world has caused this sector to reach a billion-dollar volume. In the digital game world, which eliminates the borders between countries and therefore has an important value in the way of globalisation, companies that can catch this development trend are on the list of winners. Our work in this sense is very important as we open our doors to entrepreneurs who transform ideas into products. With GamesUP, we meet the needs of entrepreneurs more than enough. We care about globalisation and in this direction, we will continue to bring our entrepreneurs and the companies we support together in such comprehensive organisations and we will bring more successful game companies and unicorns in Turkey to the world stage."
