Prof. Dr. Özer ÇINAR

Born in İzmir in 1970, Prof. Dr. Özer Çınar graduated from Dokuz Eylül University’s Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Environmental Engineering, in 1991. With a scholarship from the Higher Education Council (YÖK), he pursued his graduate studies in the United States, completing his Master's degree in 1996 and his Ph.D. in 2002 at Clemson University’s College of Engineering in Environmental Systems Engineering.

In 2003, Prof. Dr. Çınar began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University’s Faculty of Engineering, Department of Environmental Engineering. He became an Associate Professor in 2005 and was promoted to Professor in 2011. He also served as the founding head of the department for eight years.

Between 2005 and 2012, Prof. Dr. Çınar acted as an advisor to the Rector, and from 2007 to 2010, he served as the founding Director of the University-Industry-Public Cooperation Center (ÜSKİM) at the same institution. From April 2012 to January 2014, he was the Rector and a faculty member at the International University of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In July 2014, Prof. Dr. Çınar joined Yıldız Technical University’s Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Environmental Engineering. As of September 2024, he holds the positions of Senior Advisor to the Rector and Board Member of Yıldız Technical University’s Yıldız Technopark.
